Graham Nash joins GMDN Agency as Health Data Strategy Lead

The GMDN Agency is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Nash, effective July 2025.

Graham Nash joins the GMDN Agency as the Health Data Strategy Lead. With a distinguished career at the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Graham has significantly improved medical device-related terminology and aided regulators in better utilising information.

Having contributed to the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF) and leading the implementation of IMDRF terms in MHRA systems, Graham also represented the UK in MDR EUDAMED working groups, collaborating to define functional specifications for MHRA systems.

Previously, he led a team as the Senior Data Validation Officer, streamlining data processes, and began his career at MHRA as a Medical Device Specialist. He also brings hands-on experience as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Essex Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

At the GMDN Agency, he will work with the CEO, Senior Clinical Lead, Term Development Team, and other colleagues to expand and manage the GMDN Database utility.

He will also be focused on identifying opportunities where the GMDN Database could be integral to medical device health data interoperability.

Graham holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Informatics and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Biology – Biotechnology.
