The translation of GMDN into key world languages is an ongoing effort from the Agency to support GMDN’s global use and implementation.
A project to update the available translations of new and recently modified hierarchical Categories (CTs, aka Collective Terms) has been completed and published on our website in early January.
The 2600+ GMDN Categories are now up to date in French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Russian, Mandarin (Simplified) and Japanese. Several other languages remain available and will also be updated in the near future.
Please get in touch with the Agency at this link for more detailed information or to obtain Categories datasets in selected languages through our data-sharing services.
